Buffavento Castle - bleak mid-Byzantine fastness, dismantled by the Venetians

Monastery of Ayios Khrysostomos - Koutsovendis. 11th century foudation with several churches and chapels; important early 12th c. wall painting

Church of Christ Antiphonitis - near Kalogrea. Built ca.1200 with later additions. The magnificent wall painting have now been destroed.
